Week 93: Training Again!

Image
I got a call from Mission President yesterday... I'm training again! This will probably be my last companion! We saw many many miracles this week! We put two more people on date for baptism. The first one is an 11 year old girl named Kimiko. Her mom is a member and is starting to come back to church! The second one is Charity. She is very very excited to be baptized! It's hard to get in contact with her sometimes though and she didn't make it to church yesterday so please pray for her!!  We now have 5 people on baptismal date, which is the most I've ever had at once. It's a little stressful haha.  Here's a few other things that happened this week:  - Got kicked out of Charity's apartment complex by some mean maintenance guy - We started teaching Chris's fiance, Rachelle, over zoom and we've had some awesome lessons! - Biked 10 million miles - We got a media referral from a guy named Clarence. When we called him he really wanted to meet but his wife i...

Week 92: Back On Bikes

Image
Well, we're back on bikes! Our car got taken back on Tuesday. It was fine until it got really cold and wet randomly this last weekend. We pushed through though!  This week was a bit rougher than the last. We experienced a lot of opposition and barely anyone wanted to answer our calls/texts so we didn't have nearly as many lessons as I would have liked. It's also harder to meet with as many people now that we're on bikes. I've been praying for miracles and working my hardest so that God can magnify our efforts.  And He did just that!! Remember Scott from my last email? We had another lesson with him and put him on baptismal date for April 8th! He's been searching for an answer from God to know if the Book of Mormon is true. As we were meeting with him he told us how powerful different verses in the Book of Mormon were to him and that it must be inspired by God. He said that it was all making sense to him so I told him that he received his answer. He agreed and I ...

Week 91: T - 100 Days

Image
Tomorrow is 100 days until I return home. I know I keep talking about it but I seriously don't know how to handle this information hahaha. I have loved and am loving my mission. I wouldn't change it for anything. Being a missionary has brought me more joy than I could ever imagine.  We went to the temple on Tuesday and it was amazing!! I love the temple! If you haven't been to the temple recently, GO! And if you've never been to the temple before, let me know and I'll tell you more about it. We had an impromptu lesson with this guy named James and his roommate Marlet. It was in their creepy dark apartment and they were VERY expressive people so it got crazy up in there haha. It was scary and entertaining at the same time. They seemed to like us though cause they said we could come back.    We met a lady named Charity tracting and she's really cool! She was planning on coming to church but she got called into work :( She's always really happy to hear from us ...

Week 90: It's A War Zone Out Here!

Image
Hey everyone!  My p-day got switched to today because we're going to the temple! I don't have much time to write this so this one will be a little shorter. On my exchange with Elder Afualo on Thursday we were at this sketch apartment complex and we went up to this guy to talk to him and he said: "I'm a prophet... AND a witch so you probably don't want to talk to me". We talked to him anyways and he agreed to meet again hahaha. I really want to ask him how he can be a prophet and a witch at the same time. Yesterday we had a lesson with our friend Preston but he wasn't home when we came so we went to another one of our friend's apartments and as we were walking up Preston walked out. Coincidence?? I think not. He was heading to the gas station to get beer so we walked with him and taught him about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He's excited to strengthen his relationship with God and better himself! A family that we're teaching were told some lies a...
