Week 92: Back On Bikes
Well, we're back on bikes! Our car got taken back on Tuesday. It was fine until it got really cold and wet randomly this last weekend. We pushed through though!
This week was a bit rougher than the last. We experienced a lot of opposition and barely anyone wanted to answer our calls/texts so we didn't have nearly as many lessons as I would have liked. It's also harder to meet with as many people now that we're on bikes. I've been praying for miracles and working my hardest so that God can magnify our efforts.
And He did just that!! Remember Scott from my last email? We had another lesson with him and put him on baptismal date for April 8th! He's been searching for an answer from God to know if the Book of Mormon is true. As we were meeting with him he told us how powerful different verses in the Book of Mormon were to him and that it must be inspired by God. He said that it was all making sense to him so I told him that he received his answer. He agreed and I asked him what would be holding him back from being baptized into Jesus Christ's church and he said a day and time. How easy was that?? Please pray for him. Satan works extra hard on those that choose to be baptized.
Our friend, Osama, got married on Saturday so now he's one step closer to getting baptized on April 8th as well! I've never attended a wedding on my mission so that was new!
I also got to watch my friend Fabian from my last area get baptized over zoom!!
This week I listened to a talk called "Of Regrets and Resolutions" by Dieter F Uchtdorf. He said, "We shouldn’t wait to be happy until we reach some future point, only to discover that happiness was already available—all the time! Life is not meant to be appreciated only in retrospect. 'This is the day which the Lord hath made … ,' the Psalmist wrote. 'Rejoice and be glad in it.' Brothers and sisters, no matter our circumstances, no matter our challenges or trials, there is something in each day to embrace and cherish. There is something in each day that can bring gratitude and joy if only we will see and appreciate it."
We can find joy and blessings even in the most difficult times of our life. Our joy isn't determined by our circumstances but our attitude. This is something I've been learning recently. If we're too focused on the finish line or some future event we fail to find joy in the journey. Make the most of today and enjoy it!
