Week 58: Vanilla Almond Lemon Pepper Broccoli Mac & Cheese

Image
It's a new transfer with a new companion and we kicked it off running! Literally and figuratively haha.      We found 6 new people to teach and 4 of our friends came to church! We also ran to the church, played basketball, and ran back the first morning of the transfer. I haven't ran in forever so my legs literally PASSED away and I've barely been able to walk since.     So we ran into Regal again and he quizzed us on what we read in the Bible. He was a little less crazy this time though and accepted a Book of Mormon! I guess we'll see where this goes haha.      We went to church with Victoria the other week and I forgot to mention it (Russell was working so he couldn't make it)! We made an agreement that if they came to our church we would visit theirs so we went on a Wednesday. It was more like a Bible study but everyone was super nice!     We also had a meeting with a Southern Baptist pastor named Matt. It was pretty interesting to se...

Week 57: Ketsaly Was Baptized

Image
Hey y'all!  Ketsaly was baptized on Tuesday and received the Gift of Holy Ghost/was confirmed as a member of the church yesterday!! When she woke up yesterday she was feeling nauseous and didn't make it to church so we had to confirm her later on when she was feeling better. She asked me to baptize her and it was such a special experience! The water was a little low so her knees came up when I baptized her so we had to redo it haha but we got it the second time. During her whole journey I have seen her grow in tremendous ways and she's really inspired me. It was a huge act of faith for her to be baptized and I can already see how much joy has come into her life by choosing to follow Christ. She's moving to Arkansas on the 25th so that's a little sad but we'll definitely keep in touch.  We stopped by someone named Fabiola who used to be taught and she let us in and told us basically her whole life story. She's been through some hard things and wants us to com...

Week 56: "I'm Drunk, I Wanna Eat, And Go To Sleep"

Image
As the random guy that walked out of his house said yesterday, "I'm drunk, I wanna eat, and go to sleep". I felt that. Well.... maybe not the drunk part but yeah.  Soon after that encounter we got caught in a rainstorm and had a quick lesson under a car port! It was so loud we could barely hear anything each other were saying but we weren't gonna let no rain stop us from doing the Lord's work  I gave a talk in church (these people really never leave me alone) and I didn't die! 3 of our friends came to church as well and it was the first time for one of them. His name is Gabriel (I think I might've mentioned him awhile ago). He volunteered to read something in elders quorum and even answered questions!! He's a tank!! He also told us he would finish reading the Book of Mormon in about a month. Whaaaatt?? Oh and fun fact... we were about to stop teaching him and then he called us randomly and set up an appointment. Miracles are real y'all  We taught t...

Week 55: Attack Of The Cockroach

Image
President Tveten and his family finished their mission this week.  I'm going to miss them so much. They have played a huge role in my conversion and I really respect them! We met our new mission president, President Fitzgerald, and his wife on Wednesday and they're so funny and nice! It was kinda weird how fast they switch, it felt like my parents died and got replaced by some randos. We love the Fitzgeralds though, don't get me wrong.  I had one of the most horrific experiences on Wednesday night. I was laying in my bed preparing for a good night's sleep and then I felt something hit my leg. I thought maybe I had imagined it but just to play it safe I had Elder Anderson shine a light on my bed and there was a COCKROACH ON ME EHTJWBROSRBI. The moment my brain processed what was happening I legitimately flew across the room to Elder Anderson's bed. In the attempt to escape my imminent death I had flipped the blankets on top of it, so we couldn't see it anymore. I...
