Week 57: Ketsaly Was Baptized
Hey y'all!
Ketsaly was baptized on Tuesday and received the Gift of Holy Ghost/was confirmed as a member of the church yesterday!! When she woke up yesterday she was feeling nauseous and didn't make it to church so we had to confirm her later on when she was feeling better. She asked me to baptize her and it was such a special experience! The water was a little low so her knees came up when I baptized her so we had to redo it haha but we got it the second time. During her whole journey I have seen her grow in tremendous ways and she's really inspired me. It was a huge act of faith for her to be baptized and I can already see how much joy has come into her life by choosing to follow Christ. She's moving to Arkansas on the 25th so that's a little sad but we'll definitely keep in touch.
We stopped by someone named Fabiola who used to be taught and she let us in and told us basically her whole life story. She's been through some hard things and wants us to come back to teach her and her kids!
We got transfer news and I'll be getting a new companion, Elder Casen Christensen! This will definitely be an interesting transfer haha.
I honestly can't remember anything else that happened this week. We have some cool progressing friends though and we found a lot of people recently!
In honor of Ketsaly's baptism here is a scripture about baptism: "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism—yea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel (2 Nephi 31:13).
Baptism is the gate in which we enter on our path back to Heavenly Father and is necessary for our salvation and happiness. If you want to learn more about baptism shoot me a message!
