Week 103: Big Boss Mormon Guy
Whew, this week was quite the week.
We found a lot of new people and ran out of Book of Mormons one day because everyone we met wanted one. And they all lived in the same section of an apartment complex which was crazy. I guess it was a good problem to have??
Eva, one of the people we found, is pretty cool. We were riding by her house and I almost didn't stop cause it's kind of awkward to hit your breaks really hard and pull over but I felt like I needed to so we did. She told us she has friends who are members of our church and she was really open to our message! We should be having a lesson with her and one of her member friends this week!
We met with a guy named Anthony and he's so prepared for the gospel. Sadly he spontaneously moved the next day though so we had to refer him to other missionaries.
Candy hasn't seen Patrick since last Monday and he doesn't have a phone right now so we have no idea where he is. Candy told us that we need to talk to our big boss Mormon guy and use our fancy Mormon computers to find him hahaha. If anyone could tell me where to find these things please let me know.
Last night I got sick and threw up my whole dinner. Earlier in the week I was telling Elder Taggart that I haven't thrown up my whole mission so I guess I jinxed myself.
This last week I studied a little bit about the laws of justice and mercy. Alma 42:25 says, "What, do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God."
Many people think that God's love justifies them in committing sin. This is not true. There are no exceptions to living the commandments. Just as a loving parent sets rules for their children and disciplines them when the rules are broken, God shows his love for us by setting boundaries and consequences for our actions. Mercy cannot rob justice.
