Week 98: Give Them Heaven!
As Brother Choi, our ward mission leader, says, "Give them heaven!". And that's exactly what we did this week.
First of all, the Johnson boys, from Pleasanton, got baptized!! It was literally my life's mission to get those boys baptized so I was pretty overjoyed. It's been such a long time in the making.
We were very persistent with the people we taught this last week. Something I've learned over the course of my mission is to never take the first no. It doesn't always result in a yes but at least I gave them every opportunity I could to say yes.
We encountered a lot of bashers this last week and oh how my patience was tested. A lady told me to study the Bible with an open heart and I invited her to do the same. She didn't like that. Oops
Our friend Mokom told us that he is going to go back to Cameroon and establish our church there. He also said he'll bring me with him hahaha. Count me in!
Luke 15:4-5 says, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing."
Lately I've been trying to emulate Christ's example of ministering to the one. Jesus cares for us individually and spent time with the people. This week think of someone you can minster to and give them the gift of your time. I know that as we do this we will feel and share the love of Jesus Christ.
Give them heaven!
