Week 101: We Work For Jesus!

We put Patrick on baptismal date for June 17th! He has some things to overcome but he has such a pure heart. Every time we call him he says, "Hello Mr. Chris!" in his heavy accent and I love it hahaha.

We taught Nichole and Hope the Word of Wisdom and Nichole will have to make a few changes but she's so willing and set on getting baptized.

We met a lady named Chazzmine this week and she thought we were the FBI at first haha but after we explained who we are she was quite enthusiastic. Her kids asked us who we work for so I said, "We work for Jesus!" Then the boy asked if we live with Him. I said, "One day!" It was so cute. Before we left they gave us hugs too. It made my week.

Oh and speaking of children... the other week at a member's house their little girl kissed my butt and I was very taken off guard hahaha. She was trying to be sweet but her head just happens to be at the wrong height haha.

In the talk "Missionary Work and the Atonement" Elder Holland says, "If He could come forward in the night, kneel down, fall on His face, bleed from every pore, and cry, “Abba, Father (Papa), if this cup can pass, let it pass,” then little wonder that salvation is not a whimsical or easy thing for us. If you wonder if there isn’t an easier way, you should remember you are not the first one to ask that. Someone a lot greater and a lot grander asked a long time ago if there wasn’t an easier way."

Earlier in the talk Elder Holland states that salvation has never been easy. Jesus Christ didn't suffer for our sins and die on the cross so that we wouldn't have to do anything or put in any effort. He provides us mercy and the path back to our Father in Heaven if we exercise our faith in Him. Being a follower of Christ requires much, but where much is required much is given. Great shall be the joy to those who sincerely follow Christ.
