Week 79: He Is The Gift

Hello hello!

Last Monday night we went to the river walk in downtown San Antonio with our district. I got paired up with Elder Clarke and we went forth to spread the light of Jesus Christ with people! That lasted about 10 minutes until this guy started bashing with us and wasted our night. Kinda made me upset but we still had fun and gave out a lot of Light the World cards!

I sang and played the guitar in the missionary Christmas devotional. I was terrified and definitely sang like a nervous little boy but I'm glad I did it. Though I feel like I could've done better, I learned and grew through that experience.

Michael has been doing better recently and asked for a priesthood blessing. As I laid my hands on his head I had no idea what I was going to say but I felt the words flow right through me. God was truly speaking through me to Michael. It was the most powerful blessing I've ever given and I could feel such a strong presence of the Spirit in the room.

On Saturday we did tons of service for members and it was so much fun!... and kind of scary. We were bagging up a huge pile of old newspapers outside and Brother Ashley warned us that there may be snakes in it and told us to be cautious. He said that if we saw any, he had a gun. He then gave a little smirk and flashed his gun hahaha. That was funny to me for some reason but also quite assuring. We didn't come across any snakes (I know, boring) but we did see a few lizards that made me jump because I was a bit paranoid haha.

Yesterday we had an AMAZING lesson with our friend Joshua! We were finally able to teach him about the restoration of the gospel and he was legitimately astonished. He would basically gasp every time we shared something new and he kept saying, "Wow, I didn't know that". He said he's been looking for the truth for a long time and I could see the light in his eyes each time we revealed a new truth to him. He's seriously the nicest person and I want to be his friend forever haha.

Recently we've been sharing a Christmas message with members of our church about how Jesus Christ is the gift of Christmas. It is very easy to get caught up in the materialism of Christmas but we should never forget the reason for the season. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given and we can share the gift of His life by doing as He did, serving others. Whether that's sharing your testimony of Him or simply smiling at someone, you can bring His light into the world and be an example of Him. This Christmas, let's remember Christ and the blessing He is in our lives. He is the gift.

Watch this video and consider how you can share Christ's light!
