Week 76: "You Are ugly" - Crackhead Guy

Michael got baptized!! He's so stoked to be a member of Jesus Christ's restored church and is asking when he can get the priesthood and go to the temple! Gosh he's the best.

I got my trainee (Elder Scott) on Wednesday and it's been a blast! I feel like I got my young missionary energy back! Elder Scott is definitely not shy when talking to people and is very eager to share the gospel. Sometimes I have reign him back haha. It's like raising an energetic child. I love his enthusiasm though! Pray that I can train him up right

We talked to some crackheads this week and one of them called us ugly hahaha. This is how it went down... So we were street contacting in a sketchy neighborhood and we started talking with this guy and found out he was thirsty. We told him we had a water bottle in the car and would go grab it for him. After talking to a few more crackheads on the way we got to our car and drove back to this guy's house. When we knocked on the door we heard someone say: "Ugly ugly ugly. You are ugly. You cannot come into my house." over and over again. So we told him that we would just leave the water bottle on the porch but then the door opened and a different man than before appeared. We told him that we were just dropping off water for the guy we talked to earlier, gave him the water, and promptly left hahaha. It was so weird.

Mario broke up with us and I'm pretty sad about it. He said we helped them realize the importance of going to church so they're gonna start going back to their old church. Kind of a stab in the back but hey at least they'll be going to church. We've started teaching some other cool people recently who are so genuine though. I'm excited to see what happens with them!

Y'all, the new Book of Mormon videos are so good. As I watched the one for 3 Nephi 17 I literally bawled my eyes out. Here are some verses that stood out to me in this chapter:
"7 Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy.
8 For I perceive that ye desire that I should show unto you what I have done unto your brethren at Jerusalem, for I see that your faith is sufficient that I should heal you.
9 And it came to pass that when he had thus spoken, all the multitude, with one accord, did go forth with their sick and their afflicted, and their lame, and with their blind, and with their dumb, and with all them that were afflicted in any manner; and he did heal them every one as they were brought forth unto him."

Christ invites "every one" to come unto him and be healed. As I watched Christ heal the sick and afflicted Nephites, the Holy Ghost testified to me that Christ has the power to heal me too. Not only can he heal me of physical ailments but he can heal me spiritually. Jesus Christ is the remedy for any affliction we have. YOU can be healed through Christ.

Here is the link to the video! You should totally watch it!
