Week 65: The Mosquitos Have No Chill

Not gonna lie... this week was super draining for some reason. My patience has really been tested, disappointments have weighed a little heavier on me, and I've run out of all types of energy. Honestly the work is still popping off here but I'm just a bit burnt out... no better way to be burnt out than in the work of the Lord though amiright??

We've been doing A LOT of tracting this week and we've met a lot of cool people! Going door to door (tracting) can be hard sometimes but you always meet the weirdest people... and sometimes they even yell at you, but it doesn't bother me much. I'm so used to it at this point haha.

Saturday night we decided to stop by our favorite shaved ice shop here and this couple decided to sit with us. The woman was absolutely insane and really intense but her husband was pretty nice. We talked with them about our faith and beliefs and he told us that he used to be the pastor of the International Church of Christ. He said that he once had a sermon at the rose bowl so that's pretty crazy. Sadly they were not interested in learning more...

Elder Christensen and I were asked to give a training in zone conference (even though neither of us are zone leaders) on how to help people go from baptismal date to actually getting baptized. I feel super inadequate in giving this training so please pray for me... I need all the help I can get haha

There's a member in our branch that is getting rid of a piano and we asked if we could have it. So we're gonna move it in on Wednesday haha. I'm so excited!

The mosquitos have been breeding like no other here and I'm getting EATEN ALIVE. It's been raining a lot recently so it's super humid and the mosquitos have decided to make their appearance. Hopefully I don't get zika.

We had another awesome lesson with Regal but sadly he didn't make it to church. His phone isn't working right now but we told him that one of our members would be picking him up for church and he said he would be ready and waiting outside. Well... he no showed. Hopefully we'll be able to catch him again this week and find out what happened.

In my studies this week I came across this quote from Brigham Young and I thought it was really good. He said, “No man can say that this book (laying his hand on the Bible) is true, is the word of the Lord, is the way, is the guide-board in the path, and a charter by which we may learn the will of God; and at the same time say, that the Book of Mormon is untrue; if he has had the privilege of reading it, or of hearing it read, and learning its doctrines. There is not that person on the face of the earth who has had the privilege of learning the Gospel of Jesus Christ from these two books, who can say that one is true, and the other is false”.

This is a pretty bold statement but I know it be to completely true. The Book of Mormom and the Bible are the word of God through and through. They testify and support each other and are a testament that Jesus is the Christ and that God loves all of His children. If you aren't sure that what I've said is true then read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true yourself and I know you will get an answer through the Holy Spirit.

Love y'all! Have a great week.
