Week 36: 2/3 Left To Go

I am more than 1/3 into my mission. Sheesh! Time flies and this week flew by even faster! I can barely remember anything that happened haha. We're finally starting to figure out the area and getting to know people though!

On Wednesday we found this cool graffiti wall in a pretty sketchy part of town and stopped to take pictures. And then while we were taking pictures this guy started flashing his lights and honking at us. He was blasting nasty rap music and looked like a for real gangster so I thought we were gonna get jumped lol. Don't worry mom, I said a little prayer in my heart and we got out alive.

We got a few doors slammed in our face this week but the funniest one was this lady that requested a missionary visit online a little while ago. When she answered the door we told her who we are and she said, "Oh, well thanks for stopping by". And then closed the door. We just stood there like huh?? Most the time people aren't that nice when they close the door on us so we were kinda confused haha.

Yesterday we stopped by one of our friends that was taught awhile ago, and while we were walking back to our car someone outside was like, "It sure is late for you two to be out". We started talking to him and found out he was moving so we offered to help him. He said we could come by today so we did and he was really surprised that we actually showed up haha. He told us that God definitely crossed our paths because he wouldn't be able to move everything with just his young family. He was super grateful and said he'd like to have us over for dinner sometime, so we'll see what happens!

We went out street contacting a little bit ago and it was getting dark but we decided to go anyways. We felt prompted to knock on someone's door and we met a super nice lady named April!! She said the church isn't for her but that she's very interested in learning more. We taught her a lot about the Book of Mormon and Jospeh Smith and she even asked for a copy of the Book or Mormon! April may not be ready for the gospel right now, but we planted a seed and maybe one day it will grow. :)

I don't remember anything else about this last week but we set up a ton of appointments for this coming week so we're going to be very busy!!

For the spiritual thought today I wanted to share a quote from Neil L. Anderson's talk "Spiritually Defining Memories". He says, "When personal difficulty, doubt, or discouragement darken our path, or when world conditions beyond our control lead us to wonder about the future, the spiritually defining memories from our book of life are like luminous stones that help brighten the road ahead, assuring us that God knows us, loves us, and has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to help us return home. And when someone sets their defining memories aside and is lost or confused, we turn them toward the Savior as we share our faith and memories with them, helping them rediscover those precious spiritual moments they once treasured."
In times of trouble and doubt it is so important to look back at our spiritually defining memories and hold onto what we already know. Your experiences can also help others feel the love of our Savior and strengthen them! So share your experiences with others and write them down so you don't forget about them.

I seriously love each and every one of you and so does Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father!

Have a wonderful week!
