Week 32: Soar, Baby, Soar

Howdy!

This last week we were mostly in quarantine but we got out on Thursday!! That night we stopped by Monica and Juan to drop off the Book of Mormon and Monica kind of shewed us away, so that made me sad, but Juan looked excited to read it!

On Friday we met with Sheila and finally gave her a large print Book of Mormon! When I told my mom that we were having trouble getting a large print Book of Mormon she hopped online and ordered one right away! Thanks Mom you're the best! Sheila was so grateful and has already started reading!!

We got a call from one of our members on Friday asking if we could come help with a service project and we were stoked! People from all over the area were donating beds, tables, dressers, books, clothes, etc. for refugee families so we drove around picking it all up and then we dropped it off the next day. We also helped move someone Saturday morning so it was just a day full of service! I loved it!

On Saturday we were praying before heading to dinner and a guy pulled up in his car and says, "I have the impression you guys would have some literature for me to read". We were like, "Yeah we definitely do!" And then asked if we could go grab some really quick and he said that he was heading out but to leave it on his car later on that night. Before he drove away he said, "I'm just thirsty for knowledge ya know". It's super rare that someone comes up to us asking for anything so we were like what is going on?? His name is Cole so keep him in your prayers! We left a Book of Mormon, restoration pamphlet, picture of the Salt Lake Temple, and a card with a note and our number on it so hopefully he calls us!

We've had some luck calling gray dots (people who were taught or talked to missionaries in the past but haven't for awhile) recently. A few of them said they'd like to meet so we're going to set something up with them this week!

Yesterday we taught the priests (the 15-18 year old boys at church) about how important it is to know who they are. In Moses 1 God refers to Moses as "my son" and Satan calls him "son of man". Satan is constantly telling us we're not enough or worth anything but that's not true! We are children of God with divine potential. When we know this it changes our mindset. I also really like this scripture in D&C 18:
"10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.
13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!"
Why did Christ suffer for our sins?? Because he knew the worth of our souls is great! And it is only because of his sacrifice that we are able to progress. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ truly value our souls so why shouldn't we? Remember who you are (a child of God) and never limit yourself! You can accomplish anything, especially with help from our Savior! Soar, baby, soar!
