Week 23: I Got Attacked By A Dog

Howdy y'all!

We met with Jose (the basher dude I talked about in my last email) on Thursday and his wife joined us for the discussion as well! It actually went a lot better than I thought it would. He had a lot of deep questions for us but I think we did a good job of answering them and keeping the lesson on track. They're gonna meet with us again next Tuesday so pray that it will go well!

We had meeting with our ward mission leader this week at his house and his dog almost bit off my face during the prayer. And then it started chewing on my shoes WHILE they were on my feet. I didn't know what to do so I just kept pushing his toy in his face but it didn't work, so I'm a little scared to go back haha.

I have mastered crossing a highway on a bicycle. The nearest church building to us is about a 30 minute bike ride away and we have to cross a highway that's under construction to get to it. People probably think we're crazy when they see us riding through all the construction and crossing the roads but we gotta do what we gotta do haha.

So in all honesty there's days I just want to give up. The mission has not been easy for me, but thankfully I have amazing parents that encourage me to keep pushing forward and remind me of my commitment. Mathew 10:39 says: "He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." I have found this scripture to be so true. I have really grown and found myself through serving God and his children in ways I didn't even know possible. If I think of what my Savior has done for me then my sacrifice doesn't seem like too much. It's all about perspective!

Love y'all!
